TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOU...

Hi! I grew up in the US before attending Oxford and completing a Master's in Biochemistry. For my master's dissertation I investigated a treatment for a neurodegenerative disorder. I loved my degree and the research, but I wasn't sure about a long-term career in academia and wanted to explore options. I moved into investment banking at Goldman Sachs, and as a next step, I want to leverage both my knowledge of the life sciences and the practical skills I've gained through IB.

WHAT CONSIDERATIONS GUIDE YOU IN DECIDING HOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPEND YOUR CAREER? HOW DO YOU PRIORITIZE OR WEIGH THESE?

Right now I feel I'm in an early stage of my career, where the focus is exploring and gaining expertise. I'm wary of going too niche too quickly, unless there's the perfect opportunity. I'd rather do a job now with X impact so that I learn important skills and can have 5X impact in a future job, rather than doing a job now with 2X impact but with little chance to expand. Additionally, an important personal consideration is the desire to remain in London for the next few years.

WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IDEAL ROLES FOR YOU, WHAT ARE SOME

KEY CHARACTERISTICS?

I want to marry my academic and financial backgrounds. Something that is intellectually engaging and involves an amount of life sciences expertise, but also something where I can work on projects requiring real-world analysis, fast-paced decision making, good communication, and clear-headed practicality.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE RECRUITERS LOOKING AT YOUR PROFILE TO KNOW?

Please keep confidential from my current employer
