TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOU...
My values of justice, curiosity, and community have guided me in pursuing a Masters of Human Rights and dedicating my career to the nonprofit sector. Throughout my career I have found myself joining teams in times of growth which has made me interested in developing my career toward improving organizational effectiveness and impact. I have experience in strategic planning, program development and management, and research and evaluation.
WHAT CONSIDERATIONS GUIDE YOU IN DECIDING HOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPEND YOUR CAREER? HOW DO YOU PRIORITIZE OR WEIGH THESE?
It is important that the career I pursue is engaging, challenging, and will have broad social impact. I am motivated by a variety of projects that have a tangible purpose internally and externally to an organization. I would like to have a career that will provide me with a feeling of stability, such as work-life balance. I think of these considerations as fluid with regards to prioritization and often struggle between balancing impact or social purpose and stability.
WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IDEAL ROLES FOR YOU, WHAT ARE SOME
KEY CHARACTERISTICS?
I am looking for a role that is intellectually stimulating and provides room for learning new skills or about new topics. I prefer to work within a strategic or operational capacity with a balance of collaboration and independent execution of tasks. I am goal-oriented and energized by seeing my work actualized or used. It is demoralizing when I see whatever I have created shelved. I enjoy a mix of tasks whether that is creating new standard operating procedures or a program evaluation report.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE RECRUITERS LOOKING AT YOUR PROFILE TO KNOW?
I thrive in settings where I can dig into complex problems and explore innovative solutions, with the ability to continuously improve. I enjoy opportunities to collaborate where I can learn from and engage with different stakeholders. I have experience working with advocacy, research, and direct service organizations. This provides me with a broad understanding of the challenges for individual nonprofits as well as the broader sector ecosystem.
