TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOU...
I have just completed my MSc Social Cognition program at UCL. I wrote my thesis on the psychology of those who have undertaken academic or professional research and/or study into global risk, as compared to the general population. I completed my BA in Politics, Sociology and Eastern European Studies at UCL. I have worked as a freelance research consultant in the UK, writing two research investigations on workforce and practice issues during the pandemic in the charity sector.
WHAT CONSIDERATIONS GUIDE YOU IN DECIDING HOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPEND YOUR CAREER? HOW DO YOU PRIORITIZE OR WEIGH THESE?
As I am at the start of my career, I am prioritising opportunities to learn more about how to conduct impactful social and psychological research. Next, I prioritise opportunities to work in supportive working environments, ideally in a team with whom I can learn from and with about key issues in global risk management and prevention across disciplines.
WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IDEAL ROLES FOR YOU, WHAT ARE SOME
KEY CHARACTERISTICS?
1. Developing research skills: quantitative and qualitative research methodologies; statistical expertise
2. Developing psychological research expertise, e.g. in moral and social psychology, and knowledge of political processes and economic systems that shape individual behaviour and wellbeing.
3. Working collaboratively in a team with others in a supportive environment, and potentially on multiple projects.
4. Potential opportunities for travel.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE RECRUITERS LOOKING AT YOUR PROFILE TO KNOW?
