Hello, I'm a final year undergraduate studying maths and philosophy at Durham. I originally wanted to go into teaching (because I love explaining things, helping people and maths) but EA Durham convinced me that I can help far more people! To that end I'm considering Charity Entrepreneurship because I think it's a good match for my skills, I love the variety and the real impact it has. However I am very open to alternative career paths and am not commited to a particular cause area.
WHAT CONSIDERATIONS GUIDE YOU IN DECIDING HOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPEND YOUR CAREER? HOW DO YOU PRIORITIZE OR WEIGH THESE?
I tend to prioritise, from most to least important:
• Working in teams that have a sense of shared mission (that they're excited about!), and would be excited if this mission was positive impact.
• I love connecting with people and teaching.
• Autonomy and variety
I also enjoy and value reasoning and problem solving.
Work life balance is important in the long term but I'm willing to sacrifice this at the moment.v

Working in a team of high energy people that are friendly and looking to maximise their positive impact. One where I have the ability to connect with different people and in different ways. One where I have the freedom to think through problems and apply my own solutions.
